At the end of a difficult day it feels great to slip into the water and feel the weightlessness of your body in the water while you are exercising and doing aqua gymnastics. Any type of aerobic activity that you can do on the dry land, you are likely to be able to do in the water. Doing these activities in the water is often more fun as well! One of the best points about doing aqua aerobics in the water is that there is less risk of one sustaining an injury. It is the perfect form of exercise for older people who are not able to have a full range of motion on the land and for those who experience aches and pains that reduce their ability to move freely and painlessly. The water supports the body and makes it easier to perform certain movements.
Working out in the water also burns a significant amount of calories. For those who are recovering from injury, it is necessary to slowly condition the body back to a point of normal functioning. Water therapies and exercises can be the perfect way to get the body back into shape. Working out in the water also helps to keep the body from getting overheated which can slow your workout down.
