Are Brand Name Designer Shoes Always the Better Buy?
How much are you willing to spend on a pair of shoes? If you think women are the only ones willing to shell out the equivalent of a car payment for some nice shoes, think again! Men often are just as attached to labels as women, and are willing to pay a fair price for a nice pair of loafers or oxford-style shoes, or brand name athletic shoes as well.
But are the brand name designers worth the extra money? You may wonder this, especially when you see shoes available at big box retailers for a fraction of the cost. Why pay those extra dollars for designer labels?
One thing to remember is that comfortable shoes are more important than anything else, and you may find that cheaply made shoes are anything but comfortable. Those that design these shoes may not be caring as much about the details of how the foot is shaped and how it absorbs impact, and so on. A little bit of extra money for the right support and for something that bends and breathes with your feet can be well worth that investment.
Shoes may also fall apart after some time, and those better name brands may mean better materials that don’t start to rip and shred. Leather as opposed to vinyl, thicker soles, better stitching, and other quality elements that are typical of brand name shoes will mean they need replacing less often.
Keep these thoughts in mind when shoe shopping and consider how a few extra dollars spent now can mean better shoes that you enjoy wearing and that will last much longer as well.
