Best Golden Globe Dresses of All Time
The Golden Globes is one of the most popular televised events. Not only do people tune in to see who wins the best picture, best actor and best actress awards, but they tune in to see what all of the celebrities are wearing. It’s true that the event is actually about the awards, but the fashion is what gets everyone talking. In fact, if an actress wears an amazing, or disastrous, dress they could be remembered for years to come. Since some of the best fashion choices were made at the Golden Globes, let’s take a moment and honor those that rocked the best dresses of all time.
- Angelina Jolie, 2011
The sultry star usually goes for an all black ensemble. She is absolutely gorgeous, but rarely seen in colours. However, at the 2011 even Jolie was absolutely stunning and an emerald coloured, long-sleeved Atelier Versace gown that was encrusted with Swarovski Crystals. A little out of the usual, but absolutely amazing.
- Kate Hudson, 2002
Kate Hudson opted for an all over colour at this event and although normally it could make you appear washed out, this dress really worked for her. With her luscious golden locks, porcelain skin and meda-watt smile she paired a plunging champagne Atelier Versace gown. It shined and was adorned with a belt and bell sleeves for an unusual, but stunning look.
- Scarlett Johansson, 2006
The actress went for bold, yet simplistic this year by sporting a body-hugging, bright red Valentino gown. It made her stand out and who others the bombshell that she is.
- Reese Witherspoon, 2007
After recently splitting with her husband, Ryan Philippe, Reese needed to make a statement. And boy did she in a super sexy, canary yellow Nina Ricci dress. She opted for a short dress rather than the usual gown and paired the knee length number with ruby-red heels. The perfect way to say “here I am.”
- Jennifer Aniston, 2010
If you had heard that the start, best known for her stint on Friends, was going to be wearing a one-shoulder, long black gown you would have though, typical. However, when she hit the red carpet in the slit-up-to-nowhere, ultra sexy Valentino Couture gown everyone’s jaw dropped.
- Jennifer Lopez, 2009
Jenny from the block herself is known for fashion choices that are, dare I say, risque. However, the diva really knows how to rock a red carpet. In 2009 she went with a gold Marchesa gown with a bar back and plunging neckline. She absolutely stole the spotlight.
- Charlize Theron, 2004 In one of the best looks for the actress of all time, Charlize went with a whimsical, romantic look at the 2004 Golden Globes. The pale yellow, chiffon dress from Christian Dior fell off the shoulder and effortlessly showed off her naturally amazing figure.
- Mila Kunis, 2011
After many years of being remembered as Jackie from That 70′s Show, Mila was able to transform herself into an A-list movie actress with Black Swan. At the Golden Globes in 2011 she cemented this title by donning a green Vera Wang Gown. The dress had it all, one shoulder, ruching, train and it even hugged in all the right places. Definitely one of the best of all time.
