Blush and Pink Shades for Wedding Dresses
Wedding dresses have traditionally been of white or cream/ivory colors. However things are changing in our modern day bridal designs. Oscar de la Renta is one designer who is leading the way in changing the popular fashion trends for today’s bride.
New Shades Being Worn by the Stars
This season gowns that appeared on the runway were all about new shades for new brides. The gowns that were seen were often of peach, pale pink and blush colors. Wedding dresses of these hues have been worn by classic actresses such as Reese Witherspoon; she chose to walk down the aisle in a Monique Lhuillier gown that was blush colored.
Why not? These are beautiful and elegant colors that suit most skin tones, some even better than white. It is clear that these colors are making their debut in the wedding gown industry today.
Accessories and Additions to the Dress are Colorful Too
Not only are gowns being seen with splashes of color, but also the accessories that go with the gowns are often very colorful too. The colors tend to make the gown a little more interesting yet allow it to remain classic in appearance.
Designs of these dresses can be more interesting than in previous times as well, with embellished dress features, one shoulder designs, splits in the dress skirt and layers of sheer fabric that help to create a soft look.
Some of the skirts on the dresses are coming out in multiple layers. The skirts have tremendous volume and use a fabric underlay with a sash that is looped. Fabric is being used creatively to gather the material in a way that resembles a ball gown of lavish design. Sashes are being created in colors of tan, black and soft blush colors.
