Brunch, Friends & The New Year
What could be more important than family and friends? However, for friendships to survive you have to make the effort to keep in contact. Even more so, you should make contact and spend time with your friends. It’s not always easy to find time to socialise. So why not start the New Year with a special occasion? Arrange a brunch with the girls at a fabulous hotel where you will be served and pampered. All you and your friends have to do is catch up and chat.
You could choose either a local hotel or one a bit further out. Maybe you and your friends would enjoy a drive out to a country hotel. Bear in mind that a hip boutique hotel in the city would probably be more expensive than a rustic style hotel in the country.
Of course, not only would the pricing, style and décor be different but so would the food. If you and your friends are in the mood for trying out a brunch consisting of the trendiest ingredients and recipes then stick to a city venue. If you have a yen for the freshest local ingredients turned into simple but hearty meals then opt for a country venue.
Once you have your venue and food chosen, you have to get there and then it’s all about catching up. It will be the perfect setting and opportunity to chat about what has happened and what is going to happen. This is the time for you and your girlfriends to decide what you want to do together in the New Year and when.
All of you should actually set dates for the next couple of months. This will ensure you do carry it through. Once you have set aside dates and times you can decide on an activity for each date. For example, you may want to:
- go out bowling
- see the latest movie
- attend a favourite author’s book launch
- dine at a bistro
- meet for cocktails
- go for a manicure
- go to a music concert
- have a barbecue
A group of girls could come up with a hundred and one ways to spend time together. In-between you may even want to include your guys and kids. The year is new and it’s entirely up to you. What is important is that you find the time to be together.
Make good use of brunch to talk, drink wine and giggle. Show your love for one another and promise to support one another in the New Year – no matter what.
