Dogs in the City
This summer reality show is already taking many viewers interests by storm. This American reality television series is about dogs with issues and their owners who in some cases have even more issues which is interesting, educational, and funny. Justin Silver is the host of the program Dogs in the City. He is also the canine expert that tells owners how they should be dealing with their troubled pooches.
Justin, also a stand-up comedian by night, is used to dealing with drunken people, perhaps tossed items at the stage and generally emotional people. He simply has a way with the dogs as well as the people that he works with. The show is particularly interesting because he tries to solve the dogs and the owner’s problems with sometimes unconventional approaches.
There are several occasions where the owners don’t want to heed the advice that he offers and this is when things can become a little bit more tough to handle for all involved. The show is taped and takes place in the city of New York usually in high density neighborhoods. Sometimes the behaviors of the owners are actually worse than the dogs themselves which makes Justin’s job even more difficult. He has been called the dog whisperer not only to the dogs but to their owners as well. Justin is in charge of a charity organization in his spare time, the name of this organization is Funny for Fido. The people who run this charity are animal rights activists and comedians who seek to gain financial support for animal rescue operations with no kill policies and who need volunteer bases to keep them operating.
Some of the other active members in the organization that also happen to be television celebrities are Colin Quinn of Saturday Night Live, Judah Friedlander of 30 Rock and Dave Attell of the Gong Show. Every week on the show there is a new crisis that must be dealt with, most of these threaten to destroy the relationship between the owner and the animal. Some of the conflicts involved new couples in which Fido does not like one of the partners, dogs with behavioral problems because they are spoiled, separated couples in which the animal is having a hard time coping with and many other emotion and drama filled episodes. The solutions that Justin comes up with are sometimes a little bit out there and for some owners they simply do not want to stop over spoiling there ill-mannered and overweight dogs.
If you are a dog lover or simply an animal lover and if you also enjoy a little bit of drama and trauma related to training man’s best friend to behave respectably then this is going to be the show that you don’t want to miss.
