It allows you to experience new scents and flavours from a wide variety of manufacturers and to try out scents that you may have never thought you would like. However, it can also be a slightly confusing process. Seeing all of the different words and acronyms that they use on the fragrance can cause you to turn around and end your search. However, by using this simple guide you’ll be able to find the perfect scent in no time at all.
This stands for Eau De Toilette. It is a light or delicate fragrance and only contains about 4-8% concentration of the scent. It is suitable to wear during the day and perfect for summer wear. It is also generally less expensive. It lasts for 2 to 4 hours.
This stands for Eau De Parfum- This is a lighter than perfume with a concentration of 8-15% of the essence. It is generally not that expensive and lasts 3 to 5 hours. It is still suitable for summer and daytime wear, but not for all.
This is the general term used to describe a woman’s fragrance, but it actually the highest concentration of essence. It is slightly too heavy for daytime and summer wear. It is best to wear at night and in the cooler months.
I generally referred to as a men’s fragrance, but it can be used to describe a specific fragrance. It has the lightest scent and the most dilution with only 3-5% concentration. It only lasts about 2 hours at the most. It is perfect to wear anytime and is perfect for people that want a slight scent without it being too much.
