How Many Clothing Items Do I Need
Many women have no idea how many clothing items they really need. Since women wear so many hats today, from being career women, moms, wives, athletes, volunteers, students, and so much more, women need clothing that can get them through their days, weeks, seasons, and years.
Work Wear Fits Your Industry
Women who work outside of the home need clothing that fits their industry. If they work in an athletic field, they may need a different pair of pants, tops, and bra for each day. Women who work in a professional field and with a variety of people should have a wide variety of clothes, pants, suits, skirts, and tops, especially since women are usually judged in the workplace by what they wear. Those who work in a trade can base their needs on how many times they can re-wear pieces each week. Depending on the work environment, women will need enough outfits for five days of work with time for washing or dry cleaning. Those who dry clean will need more pieces, simply because dry cleaning takes longer than cleaning at home.
Women who stay home probably do not need as many pieces of clothes. Depending on what a woman does will determine how many items of clothing a woman needs. Ladies-who-lunch probably need more pieces, because it is fun to show off new styles. Women who stay with children and take care of the home can probably get away with fewer items, like a two pairs of jeans, a few tops, and a few sweatshirts.
If women are creative with their apparel choices they can get away with buying fewer pieces. Any woman can get by with a few simple, classic pieces. These pieces should be made well and be of quality fabrics and classic design. Those pieces include a classic white shirt; a good pair of jeans; trousers in black, gray and blue; a simple, yet professional dress; yoga pants; a warm sweatshirt; a few simple, plain tee shirts; a cardigan sweater in your favorite color and style; a black or neutral colored skirt; and a good jacket. Women who are creative with their financing can get away with buying as many piece of clothing as they want to buy. Shopping at thrift stores and resale stores allow women to buy more specialty items at really low prices. Once a woman owns the basic pieces, fun thrift store finds can add personality and style.
Women also need good underpinnings to make their clothes look and fit the way they should. Depending on how often a woman does laundry, she should have enough panties to make through the time between laundry cycles. She should also have a variety of panty styles based on the function of bottoms. Women also need a few bras that offer daily support. Women also need a good sports bra for whatever exercises they like to do.
Women’s fashion is a big business and it is easy for women to spend too much money and have too many pieces of clothing. Looking at weekly schedules and apparel needs, women can easily decide how many clothing items they really need.
