How to Get Soft, Youthful Skin No Matter Your Age or Skin Type
Everyone wants soft, touchable skin that is firm and supple and downright sexy. You can have soft skin no matter your age and no matter your skin type, if you take care of it every day.
Soft skin is nourished and hydrated skin; this nourishment mostly comes from underneath, as the blood circulates and delivers oxygen and hydration. The skin is the last organ in the body to get the hydration you take in from what you eat and drink, so to have soft skin, increase the amount of water you drink every day.
Avoid caffeine as this is a diuretic, meaning it causes you to lose hydration. Meat and dairy also sap moisture as they’re being digested, so cut back on these and increase the foods you eat that have a high moisture content, including fruits and leafy greens.
Your skin is also nourished and hydrated by what you put on its surface. Baby oil is an effective, inexpensive moisturizer you can use on your body. After a shower, rub on baby oil and then put on some sweatpants to keep it from evaporating. Doing this before bedtime, so your skin has all those hours to absorb this moisture, will give you the softest skin ever.
Don’t forget problem areas like elbows and feet; wool socks will keep this moisture on your skin and make your feet soft and touchable.
Keep your skin protected from the elements, as this will also sap its moisture and cause it to be dry and rough. Wear sunscreen and gloves while working around the home or garden, and be sure to bundle up in the harsh winter weather.
