How to Get Thicker, More Lustrous Eyebrows
Overgrown eyebrows that are untrimmed and unkempt can detract from a woman’s face, but overly thin brows can also look unnatural and outdated. To get thicker brows that frame your eyes and flatter your look, consider a few simple tricks and tips.
First be carefully about how you wax and pluck. A bit of cleanup under the brows or around the edges are usually all you need. As you wax or pluck, step back and look at your face before you remove more, so you know you don’t remove too much.
If your eyebrows don’t fill in on their own, use an eyebrow pencil to give them some fullness. One common mistake that many women make is drawing in what appear to be little stripes along the brows, so they look very unnatural. Keep the pencil sharp and pull your skin taut so that the penciling looks natural and your brows look full.
Another good trick for adding fullness to your brows is to run your eyebrow brush, the backside of your eyelash comb, over the top of an open tube of mascara, and then running this along your brows. Just as mascara makes your eyelashes look longer and fuller, it can also add fullness and color to your brows.
Your colorist may also be able to use dye on your eyebrows, but be very careful about doing this on your own. A few dabs of hair color, left in for about 10 minutes, can darken your brows and make them appear fuller, but you must be cautious about allowing the dye to get into your eyes. If the smell begins to bother your eyes, rub this off with a damp cloth immediately.
