How to Make Your Eyes Shiny With White Eyeliner
Summer means lighter colors including in your makeup, and a good way to wake up your eyes and give your face a fresh, cool look this summer is to use white eyeliner. You need to understand how to use it properly so that it looks natural, so consider a few quick tips.
One thing to remember is that you want a sharp tip for your white eyeliner since you want a small, precise line. You don’t smudge your white eyeliner the way you do other liners, so be sure you have a sharpened pencil or use a liquid brand.
Typically you don’t use white eyeliner alone; instead, you should add some dark eyeliner on the edge of your lids and smudge it just slightly. Add a precise line of white eyeliner outside this line but not along the entire lid. To open up your eyes, use the white eyeliner in the outside corners, or to add some brightness, use a small bit on the inside corner of the lids.
If you’re going out at night and want some drama, use a thicker line of both dark and white liner over your eye shadow, and run the line from the inside of your eye to the far corner. This is a very dramatic look and one you should reserve for dressier occasions, not the beach!
You may need to experiment a few times to get the ratio of white and dark liner perfect, but if it doesn’t seem to look natural you may need a thinner line of white. You want the white line to be barely noticeable; it is just to add some brightness to your eyes and nothing more. It may also be good to add some concealer under your eyes if you notice they seem to be dark and tired.
