Quick Tips for Saving Money on Your Winter Wedding
Planning a winter wedding, and really any wedding for that matter, can be very costly and send a new couple into debt before they are even husband and wife. This is no way to start your married life together!
To save money at your winter wedding, consider a few quick tips in this regard. You can modify these to help you save on a wedding you may be planning at any other time of the year as well.
First, pare down all the unnecessary items. For invitations, omit the added costs of papers and notes you include with the invites; a simple invite with an RSVP card is all that’s needed. Share a limousine to and from the venue rather than having several for each family; a party bus may even be safer for a winter wedding since it gets through ice and snow much more easily.
Second, note your expenses for the reception, which is one of the largest costs of a wedding, and think of less expensive choices. Have a buffet rather than a plated dinner, and opt for a few choices rather than trying to provide several different courses. Eliminate unnecessary frills such as a chocolate fountain and ice sculpture; if you have something like a candy buffet, choose just a few items to set out rather than dozens.
Lastly, consider how you can choose simple items for what you do need at your winter wedding. A bowl of colorful Christmas ornaments can be a unique and beautiful centerpiece. Gather large twigs and spray paint them white, place them in a vase, and drape strings of crystal around them. The savings in all these areas will quickly add up without compromising your beautiful winter wedding!
