Staying Hydrated To Avoid Those After Exercise Cravings
It is an all too familiar story, working out in the gym or going for a run and then finding that you are ravenously hungry. This is understandable to an extent as you will have expended a great deal of energy and will also have lost a lot of fluids whilst you were working out. However there is no point running to the nearest fast food joint after your workout and ruining all that good work which you have put in.
So, what can you do? Actually there is plenty that you can do in order to curb those cravings.
Firstly ensure that you stay constantly hydrated throughout the day and evening every day. This is especially true with regards to days that you are exercising. Often the body mistakes feelings of thirst for those of hunger. Help your body out and drink lots of water.
Also ensure that you are eating adequately for the amount of energy you are using up. Often people go on extremely low calorie diets and expect to exercise strenuously and not get any cravings. This is wrong and you need to ensure that you are being sensible in your fitness goals. This will work so much better for you in the long term.
Ensure that you eat your biggest meal of the day after you work out and make sure that this meal is balanced and that it is filled with nutritionally rich and low fat foods. Also eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and don’t over push yourself during your exercises. Following these simple tips will ensure that you stay sensible and don’t ruin all that good work!
