Tips for Buying the Right Gloves and Scarves for This Winter

Winter is coming, which means it’s time to pull out and check all your winter clothes and accessories. Often you need to replace your gloves and scarves since these can wear out or become threadbare, or you may simply be tired of the style.
Matching gloves and scarves can be a great way to add some fun and personality to your winter wear. This is especially true if you have a black coat; the classic color goes with everything but can be somewhat dull and boring! A nice scarf can give you the splash of color you really need during the dull winter months.
First, consider that different matching sets of gloves and scarves can be good for different occasions. For a professional office, soft angora in subtle or subdued colors can be appropriate and professional. For a more casual environment or for everyday wear, consider fun colors, even orange or yellow to brighten your mood during winter. It’s also good to choose a color that complements your skin tone and your eyes; choose off-white for brown eyes and darker skin tones, and blues and greens for fairer skin and blue eyes.
Second, consider a few different sets since they are so affordable and you may want to mix them up. You may even need something different for when you’ll be outside for any length of time, versus something lighter to just guard against the wind and cold during a quick dash to the car. Larger wool scarves in a classic plaid can keep you warm while still looking stylish, whereas smaller, thinner, knit scarves are not so heavy that they even need to be removed when you’re inside.
