Tips for Planning a Christmas Themed Winter Wedding
When you have a wedding during wintertime, you may want to think about a Christmas theme. Even if your wedding isn’t in December, it can still be a beautiful scheme to your wedding that everyone will love.
To plan a Christmas themed wedding, first think of the colors. Red and green are obvious choices; you can dress your bridesmaid all in one of these colors, or have your maid of honor in one and the bridesmaids in the other. For your reception, choose tablecloths of one of these colors to coordinate; you can layer them under silver or white cloths so they’re not too bold or overpowering.
Your decorations are another obvious area in which you can add some Christmas flair. Many stylists will recommend lining the aisle of your ceremony site with artificial trees or white birches. You can string white Christmas lights through these for an elegant touch.
Christmas ornaments in glass or silver bowls can work as centerpieces for your reception site. You can even have miniature trees you decorate like real Christmas trees as well. Or, wrap empty boxes in nice Christmas wrapping and stack them in the center of the tables for an interesting centerpiece.
Garlands and poinsettias are great choices as added decoration, either for your venue or reception site. These are associated with Christmas and can give the room a wonderful fragrance as well. You can even use mistletoe for the couple’s first kiss!
Consider your menu when planning a Christmas themed wedding. Ginger snaps, eggnog, and even fruitcake can be great choices, as well as ham and turkey and other such traditional Christmas dishes.
