Unique Ways to Add Personality to Your Winter Wedding
A winter wedding is a good opportunity to add some personality to your ceremony and reception, as well as to your dress, the bridesmaids dresses, and every other detail as well. You can easily incorporate the season into your plans and can take advantage of the cooler weather to indulge yourself in some other fun choices as well.
As an example of how to add personality to your winter wedding, consider having the bridesmaids carry fur hand muffs instead of flowers. You can also add soft fur to the neckline of their dresses or their shoes for a fun touch. Cooler winter weather can mean longer dresses which will give your wedding a more formal and dressier look.
Because of the cooler weather in winter, you can choose a very fancy dress for yourself that might be too warm and stifling during the summer months. Long sleeves or opera gloves can be appropriate, as can a full skirt with layers of tulle. You might also consider wearing a jacket over a sheath dress for a formal look during your ceremony, and then removing the jacket for the reception for added comfort.
Keeping the guests warm during the reception with a selection of teas and cocoas can be a fun touch and one they’ll appreciate. You might set out a cookie buffet that provides a selection of cookies you associate with winter such as ginger snaps or sugar cookies decorated with red and green sprinkles, or ones shaped like snowmen.
If your wedding is near Christmastime, use this as inspiration for decorating. A bowl of ornaments can be a great centerpiece, and poinsettias can work well as decoration for your venue and reception.
