Victoria Beckham to Finally Launch Long-Awaited E-Commerce Site
Fans of Victoria Beckham’s fashions will finally be able to purchase pieces from her iconic line online at her new, long-awaited e-commerce site, set to launch in early 2013. The announcement comes hot on the heels of Burberry announcing her son Romeo as the face of their new campaign, so the Beckham family has much to celebrate from the world of fashion!
The site is to be managed by the creative agency King & Partners, well-known in the business of e-commerce and social media platforms. It will have a dedicated e-commerce platform for easy purchasing and a branded VB content which will be shared across social platforms. This will allow customers to quickly post items to their Facebook page or Twitter feed or other social media websites, and to get updates as soon as they hit the site.
It is reported that Beckham has hired creative partners Jonny Lu and Isaac Lock for overseeing the art direction on the entire site. These men are no strangers to e-commerce in the fashion industry; Lu has worked with HAKAAN, Katie Grand, Louis Vuitton, LOVE Magazine, and jeweler Dominic Jones among others. The site promises to be interactive and bold and perfect for any fashion lover.
The CEO of Victoria’s line, Zach Duane, was very eager to talk about the site and its development, which has been some time in the making. “For us, this is the first step toward creating our own store environment,” he has been quoted as saying. “There are obviously already some fantastic digital stores in place, so the bar to entry is very high. But we feel that we’ve learned a lot from the market and that we are bringing our take on what we believe is ultimately all about customer experience.”
The former Spice Girl herself also seemed excited about this new direction for her company. “It was so important that the concept, tone and look of it were true to me and my aesthetic and that the shopping experience was the very best that it could be for my customer. The site will be ever evolving, featuring never-seen-before insights into my world through the medium of film. I’m incredibly excited with what I have created and the unique access to the brand I am now able to offer.”
Currently Victoria’s line is available on Net-a-Porter, but this new e-commerce site promises to open up the retail experience to an entirely new set of customers. No word yet on the pieces it will include initially or how the line will grow once the e-commerce site is active, but considering the fact that Victoria’s line is always one of the most well-reviewed in the industry, it’s sure to offer something for everyone!
